Starting in 1973, in the town of Viçosa-MG, the Brazilian Congress of Entomology (CBE) in its 23rd edition will be held in 2010 at Natal-RN. The congresses are sponsored by the Entomological Sociey of Brazil (SEB) in partnership with research institutes and universities. The main purpose is to discuss the last advances in the science of Entomology and congregate entomologist from all over the country. The congresses are held every other year in different geographical regions, and it is the most important forum to discuss Entomology in Latin America. After the Natal meeting in the northeast, the congress will move to the south, with the XXIV CBE to be held in Curitiba-PR in 2012. |

In 2011 the Biological Control Symposium (Siconbiol) reaches its 12th edition, with the realization of the XII Siconbiol in São Paulo-SP. Promoted by the Entomological Sociey of Brazil (SEB) in partnership with research institutes and universities the symposium started in 1988 in the city of Rio de Janeiro-RJ. This meeting aims to congregate entomologists and professionals involved in biological control of insects, pathogens, and weed plants. It is held every other year in different geographical regions of Brazil, and it is the most important forum to discuss biological control in Latin America. After the meeting in São Paulo, the symposium will move to Bonito-MS in 2013.
